Islandman
Islandman, a music trio in this realm but a fictional character in reality, is a musical identity—a visionary inspired by an island that does not exist. They could never have imagined that the roads they traveled would lead to such fascinating and beautiful places.
Islandman's journeys have taken them to the Best Band award at the Montreux Jazz Festival, a Kecak dance in Bali, stories in the streets of Paris, and the ancient sounds of women in Bulgaria's mountains. They have drawn inspiration from Aşık Veysel in Anatolia, Worldwide FM in London, the Tuareg’s hypnotic music in the deserts of Mali, and even from being a guest on Elton John’s radio show. Their musical odyssey includes an unforgettable performance in the Boiler Room series, studio sessions with Bongo Ent. in Denmark, the softest female vocals from South America, and countless other experiences—too many to list in writing.
Islandman has managed to create an alternative existence, forming a global family with extraordinary members from all over the world. The sharp mind of Tolga Böyük in production, the deep storytelling in their music, Erdem BaÅŸer’s psychedelic guitar riffs that transport listeners to alternate realities, and Eralp Güven’s rhythmically diverse four-beat patterns transform Islandman’s performances into a musical clinic—a shamanic ritual infused with the sounds of the paths they have walked. They take their listeners on a deep, sincere musical journey.
Like all healers, shamans, and self-aware spirits, Islandman offers their audience an entirely different realm in their concerts, opening the door to alternative existences. Stepping through this door and meeting Islandman on the other side is an experience unique to each person's own intention and dreams…
